C + A: oh july, you were way too much fun

It's been a busy past few weeks!!

So lets back it up to a few weekends ago. The weather in DC was PERFECT. Around 80 degrees, no humidity. So we took FULL ADVANTAGE.

That Friday night we met a bunch of our friends down at the sand volleyball courts. We played for a few hours and had a great time.

The next day we explored Alexandria, VA. King Street is full of fun antique, clothing and art shops. It ends at a public dock / pier where the rich keep their boats and the newlyweds just enjoy the scenery.

Later that week I headed to NYC for a textiles show for work. I was in HEAVEN! Beautiful textiles from all over. It was mostly to meet with companies who manufacturer them. While in NYC I was also able to see my Dad who was there for work as well - always a nice bonus!!

THEN on Sunday I took the first flight out - once again to California...but this time not for work - for play! It was a great time with my family. We stayed at our timeshare in Newport and did everything from beach, to eat, to Disneyland, pool time etc. I was super bummed Colton couldn't come but he will next year.

I flew back Thursday just in time for Colton to meet me at the airport and we quickly took the metro over to the Verizon Center to see Keith Urban!! It was an AMAZING show!!! Colton (being a lover of all things country music) got us great seats on the floor...we were so close!! If it wasn't for the security we would have totally been able to give him a high-five. He played for 2 straight hours. Such a good show.

Friday morning I woke up it was go time. Did I mention in the midst of all of this travel / business I was helping my friend Melissa throw a surprise 30th birthday 'stache bash party for her husband Dave that night???

Dave loooooveeeessss mustaches - but like Colton rarely gets to sport one these days. So when Colton and I came up with the idea to throw him a stache bash, his wife Melissa was immediately on board.

We made staches on a stick, a HUGE Dave poster to play "pin the stache on the Dave", a mustache for the pinata (if we had more time we would have made a mustache pinata), picked up wings, meatballs and jalapeno poppers for the food, and tons of bottled drinks from world market.

A week prior Colton and I hit up Urban Outfitters and bought everything "stache" for Dave. We got him a "Bike Stache" for his bike, a mustache shirt to wear through-out the party, mustache bandaids. mustache cups, mustache key chain - and the list goes on. Melissa bought him Mustache pillow cases which were just as awesome.
