spring walk

Last Saturday around 4pm we decided to hop on the metro and head downtown to check out the cherry blossoms....

Which then turned into a 7 mile walk all around DC, I was in heaven! First off I love the fact I can walk all around this clean beautiful city! Secondly... everything literally bloomed in a few days, BOOM it was spring! 

Here is the path we took:

- Metro to Lincoln Memorial, to MLK, around the tidal basin, then over and around to Georgetown. Passed the Kennedy Center, Watergate Hotel, and up to M street. Decided we didn't see anything we liked for dinner on M street in Georgetown so we headed down the little back roads around the CUTEST row homes and over to the Dupont Metro. From there we took the metro to Bethesda and ended our adventure at our favorite mexican restaurant, Uncle Julio's Rio Grande Cafe!

WooHOOOOO it's spring!

a story of two bros, an 80's show and good times.

Tori and Tyler came to town this last weekend!! 

We went LEGWARMERS, a famous 80's cover band ....

(But first had a pre-dance party photo shoot)

   

Then we partied it up in VA! Our friend Brianna and her BF met up with us too. 

I felt like I was 22 again. it was awesome.

We ate a lot of AMAZING food, including Neilson's Frozen  Custard!! Who would have thought it would have made it's way to the east coast...rt??! It was Colton's first time and I think he is sold.

I love that these two are best friends.... did I mention they even have matching watches?? "Bro-atches" as they call it. Yup they bought them for each other. 

   

We were so sad to see them leave. But what fantastic way to kick off March!! 

So who's going to be our next visitors???!

a case of the spring fevers

Is it Spring yet??!!! Add it to the list of firsts this past year. I officially have spring fever. I was literally crawling the walls and almost having a breakdown a few weeks ago (ask Colton). Not cool. I can't been coop'ed up in a house this long!! 

Colton just smiled and said "ohh you have spring fever all right!" 

So instead of making some irrational decision and buying last minute tickets down to Florida (my finger was about to click the "buy" button...) I compromised and we got out of Maryland for a few hours. We drove down through Alexandria and over to Mount Vernon (gorgeous!!). Just what I needed. A change of scenery. The drive takes you down the Potomac and into these gorgeous neighborhoods tucked away from all business of city life. 

Hope is in site. The cherry blossoms are just as anxious as I am blooming weeks early...I thank them for giving me a glimpse of hope that spring weather is around the corner!

So what have we been up to this month??

In addition to my life of eating, Colton and I took the little munchkins I watch every week to the Aquarium while their parents were out of town for a night! 

The Baltimore aquarium is sooooooooo great!! BUT now I understand why people put their children (ages 2 and 4) on leashes, you could loose them in a crowd of people in two seconds! 

Needless to say the trip was a little more hectic then expected trying to chase two little ones (who do not belong to us) around in a crowd making sure they don't get lost! BUT all in all it was a great time and maaaybe a little bit of a reality check of life with TWO little ones. 

Feb was great but can't say I haven't every been happier to welcome March!!!! Let's get this spring season started!!
